Our services are all provided with one primary goal in mind: To enable manufacture and industrial designers to reduce the cost of product development cycles and dramatically shorten time-to-market of new products. This unique facility is a research and development center with machines capable of short production runs. The facility also serves as a training center for Siemens PLM software products. Saber’s technical staff provides every service associated with the design, analysis and manufacture of parts using state-of-the-art software, hardware and machining tools.
The
machining capabilities in this facility are enhanced with cutting edge equipment
and technology. Our DMG 5-axis Universal Machining Center with a Siemens
840 controller is in a class of its own. The Objet Eden500v 3D Printing
system uses state-of-art materials to produce exceptional 3D models. Laser
Engraving, Duracoating, and Metris Scanning System are among the services
offered. We provide all services required to take you from paper to
production.
Saber RPC Services Info
Saber’s
rapid prototyping services can start with a laser scan of any obsolete part and
turn it into a full CAD drawing using Siemens state-of-the art CAD systems, or
start with a CAD design or sketch in any format. We can then add full GD&T
dimensioning, and either produce a 3D print out of multiple materials, or
machine the part using the material of your choice. Saber Design and
Analysis Services has pioneered many FEA services; our FEA expertise can
optimize a design while meeting performance criteria. Saber RPC can
perform all or any of these steps, along with the following services:
Rapid
Prototyping – Instead of
just providing the SLA models, we can also provide a full line of other services
in any medium. From your sketch or any existing part, we use laser
scanning within 35 microns accuracy. That scan is then turned into a CAD
drawing using state-of-the-art Siemens software. From there we can produce
either a 3D Print in a wide variety of materials to suit your needs, or using
our DMG 5-axis machine, we can reproduce your part with exceptional turn-around
times. We use real live material properties – whatever materials you
specify. When we give you the prototype of your part or assembly, we can
create that model in real size, larger or smaller, perfectly to scale.
3D
Printing
– Utilizing
the Objet Eden500v 3D Printing system and their state-of-art PolyJet technology,
we can create fast, accurate 3D models and parts of complex geometries.
Design your model in almost any CAD program and save the design as an STL file.
Once the parameters of chordal tolerance / deviation and angle control are set
and a geometry check is performed, the part is ready to be built. These
models are produced with exceptionally fine details, smooth surfaces, and
support all FullCure materials (Transparent, Vero and Tango).
Laser
Engraving
– Provides
fast, high detail engraving, marking and cutting of parts or products.
These precise engravings or markings can be done as part of a production run,
for a single unique part, or as a separate service on already finished parts.
Applications vary from awards and personalizing existing products to industrial
parts that need engraved or etched markings.
Reverse
Engineering
– Do you
have a part but no original design drawings to be able to replicate that exact
part? Or perhaps you need a part that is no longer made in production by
the manufacturer? With our reverse engineering service, we perform an
analysis of the part’s structure, GD&T measurements, FEA, function and operation
and provide a duplicate of the part or an entire assembly, along with complete
documentation of the design.
Investment Castings / Mold Making / Cast Modeling
– can save
time, money and materials. This process is used to produce metal parts
requiring minimal machining, finishing or surface treatments.
Designed to minimize the cost of producing close tolerance or finer finish
parts, machining is frequently reduced or eliminated with investment casting.
Dimension Verification / Metrology Services
– Applies
measurement science to the manufacturing process to within + or - .0006/inch.
Do you have designs with dimensions that don’t match the desired or documented
dimensions of your actual parts? This service takes a drawing and
determines the true dimensions of your design, or takes the desired dimensions
and corrects the design to match those measurements.
3D CAD
Modeling
– Provide a
sketch in any format (even the back of an envelope or on a cocktail napkin) and
we will create a 3D CAD model of that design using Siemens Solid Edge or NX6
with Synchronous Technology software. The resulting model can be saved in
any CAD file format (ParaSolids, .JT doc, .XGL, .SAT, CATIA (model files, V5
files, V5 Assemblies), IGES, STEP, .STL, .XML, .PDF, .PRT, .DWG, .STP, .DXF
Custom
Fixturing
is the key
to efficient production on any CNC milling machine. This service
determines how many parts can be loaded into a machine, minimizing downtime
while changing loads. Factors such as stability, freedom from
obstructions, accurate locating, and allowances for tooling are all used to
determine the best possible fixturing.
Customized Tool Holding
–This
service uses either a rapid prototyping model as a pattern to quickly create a
mold or uses the rapid prototyping process directly to fabricate a tool for a
limited volume of prototypes.
Custom
Workholding
– This
service provides an analysis of best workholding solutions for your CNC machine,
designed to lower your production costs and improve the quality of your
manufacturing process.
Development of Jigs
– Do you
need a small production run of a product for a trade show? Small
production runs that are for test market purposes can be expensive and
inefficient. But with the development of a Jig, you can eliminate much of
the measuring and almost automate many of the tasks you need to perform before
making cuts and shaping your product. A Jig is a manufacturing tools that
saves you time while increasing your accuracy. It removes the need to
measure twice before cutting once. This service develops Jigs for your
test market product.
Duracoat
Service
–Although it
has only been around since 2001, Duracoat is widely recognized as the industry
leader in plating systems. Duracoat is a permanent finish originally
created specifically for firearm industry but now being used by any industry.
Laser
Scanning
– You
provide the physical part that you’d like converted into a 3D model. We’ll
scan it using Metris Digital Laser scanning and create a 3D model using Siemens
PLM products; then fully GD&T dimension it from your existing part. You
can either use this design at your own manufacturing facility or we can produce
short runs of the product in our own facility.
Custom
CAM Solutions
– Saber RPC
can provide CAM services in the following areas:
- Tool path
planning - While many commercial CAM packages offer a general solution to
specific problems, we can generate a specific solution for a specific problem
with customized programming. This includes using advanced 5-axis tool
positioning strategies such as optimized lead angle and curvature matching. We
can also develop 3 and 4 axis tool paths for your specific needs.
- Post
processing – Saber RPC can develop a custom post processor for your specific
needs. 3-5 axis post processors can be created having simple text interfaces to
a robust graphical simulation of the actual machine.
- File
conversion - Because of the large variety of CAD and CAM solutions, your
software may not always be compatible with your customers data. Saber RPC can
help by developing custom software for the conversion of CAD/CAM data between
applications as you require.
Re-Engineering – Starting with an existing part or even just CAD
geometry, our expertise determines better ways to build it. Incorporating some
of the same processes used for reverse engineering, the focus is not on
duplicating the part, but on CAM and CAD optimization, saving production costs
and time-to-market.
